Technical Description
The excavator rotary gearbox usually adopts a planetary gear transmission structure. It consists of a sun gear, planet gears, and a ring gear inside. During operation, the hydraulic motor outputs power to drive the sun gear to rotate. Driven by the sun gear, the planet gears rotate around their own axes and revolve around the sun gear, thereby driving the ring gear to rotate and realizing the rotation of the slewing platform. This structure can convert the high-speed and low-torque of the hydraulic motor into the low-speed and high-torque required by the slewing platform through multi-stage gear reduction. For example, the Caterpillar excavator slewing reducer adopts such a structure. Through optimizing the gear module, tooth surface hardening treatment (such as carburizing and quenching process) and precision assembly process, the torque output efficiency is effectively improved.
