Cooling Roll Production

Cooling rollers are fed with cooling water when calendered films or adhesive tapes are coated. This reduces deformation caused by material shrinkage during cooling in the roll forming process. The material passes through the cooling roll before final forming to minimize deformation. These rollers are positioned behind the web drying unit to reduce web temperature to the curing temperature of heat-setting ink.

Cooling Roll Features

The internal structure determines cooling effectiveness and service life. Key components include:

  • Roller body: Main component, typically made of cast iron or welded steel plate
  • Pipes: Transport cooling medium within the roller body
  • Nozzles: Spray cooling medium on the roll surface, made of copper or stainless steel
