ASD-001 Macroporous Strong Acid Cation Resin for Ultrapure Water and Softening

ASD-001 is a large pore strong acid cation exchange resin with a polystyrene backbone carrying sulfonic acid exchange groups, available in sodium (Na+) or hydrogen (H+) form. It is a workhorse media for water softening, ultrapure water production and metal ion removal, and can also decolorize chemical wastewater and recover heavy metals, offering excellent economic value across industrial water treatment.

Q1: What is the difference between Na+ and H+ form operation?
In Na+ form the resin exchanges hardness ions for sodium and is regenerated with brine - ideal for softening. In H+ form it exchanges cations for hydrogen and is regenerated with acid - used in deionization and ultrapure water production.
Q2: What bed depth and flow rate do you recommend?
Minimum bed depth is 750 mm; typical service flow is 10-30 BV/h depending on influent quality and target water. Our engineers can calculate the design for your feed analysis.
Q3: How is ASD-001 different from gel-type cation resins?
The macroporous structure gives better resistance to organic fouling, osmotic shock and oxidizing agents, with a longer service life in demanding industrial feeds.
