Mesotrione 40% SC is a powerful herbicide used for effective weed control in cornfields. It can be applied as a soil surface treatment before germination or as a stem and leaf spray after germination. The active ingredient is absorbed by seeds, young roots, sprouts, and leaves, and is conducted between the xylem and phloem, ensuring comprehensive weed control.
For pre-emergence treatment, the recommended dosage is 200-300g/hm2. For post-emergence application, use 100-150g/hm2.
Mesotrione is highly miscible and can be mixed with other herbicides for enhanced efficacy. Pre-emergence treatments can be combined with atrazine, acetochlor, propisochlor, and metolachlor. Post-emergence stem and leaf sprays can be mixed with nicosulfuron, rimsuluron, atrazine, and bromoxynil.
Primarily used in the agricultural sector for corn cultivation.
