Product Overview
This series of Inconel 601 round bars are hot forged & hot rolled solid nickel-chromium-aluminum alloy rods. After complete solution annealing and stress relief heat treatment, the material obtains uniform single-phase austenite grain structure, stable dimensional tolerance and excellent high-temperature comprehensive performance.
Inconel 601 is specially optimized for high-temperature oxidation service. The added aluminum element generates compact alumina protective layer, which solves the peeling problem of pure chromium oxide film under thermal cycles. It far surpasses Inconel 600 in furnace radiant tubes, heat treatment fixtures and high-temperature exhaust components, and maintains stable performance in nitric acid and mild corrosive environments.
Material Grade Characteristics – Inconel 601 (UNS N06601 / 2.4851)
- Ni-Cr-Al solid solution strengthened heat-resistant alloy with controlled aluminum content
- Superior cyclic oxidation resistance, no oxide layer peeling under frequent temperature fluctuation
- Strong resistance to carburizing, nitriding and sulfur-containing high-temperature atmospheres
- Retain stable tensile & creep strength at 900–1200°C continuous working temperature
- Good cold & hot forming performance, easy for stamping, bending and complex machining
- Low carbon design avoids intergranular carbide precipitation after welding & heating cycles

Key Advantages
1. Superior Cyclic Oxidation Resistance
Aluminum element forms adherent Al₂O₃ protective film, effectively prevent oxide peeling under repeated heating & cooling, far better than Inconel 600 for furnace service.
2. Anti-Carburization & Anti-Nitriding Performance
Resist carbon/nitrogen infiltration in heat treatment furnaces, extend service life of trays, radiant tubes and retorts greatly.
3. Stable High-Temperature Creep Strength
Maintain reliable load-bearing capacity under long-term high-temperature continuous operation, not easy to deform or creep.
4. Excellent Fabrication & Weldability
High ductility supports all forming processes; no sensitization risk after welding without extra post heat treatment.
5. Moderate Aqueous Corrosion Resistance
Stable in atmospheric, freshwater and nitric acid mediums, fit chemical heating equipment components.
