8Cr13MoV High Carbon Stainless Steel Sheet

8Cr13MoV is a high-carbon, excellent value-priced stainless steel, which features

quite similar performance characteristics to AICHI AUS-8 in terms of toughness, edge retention, and wear resistance.

The 8Cr13MoV stainless blades have been fully proved by assorted highly successful and well renowned knives,

like Spyderco Byrds, Spyderco Persistence, Spyderco Tenacious, as well as Benchmade Vex, Benchmade Pikas

The AUS Series ( AICHI TECHNO METAL FUKAUMI Co., Ltd. )

Has .65% carbon, certain elements molybdenum and vanadium added,

which is comparable to W.-Nr. 1.4116 DIN X50CrMoV15.

AUS-8

Has .75% carbon. Cold Steel has made popular use of this steel.

This is tough steel, and holds an edge well.

AUS-10

Has 1.1% carbon. This steel is comparable to 440C stainless.

It has more vanadium and less chromium than 440C so it is slightly tougher, but also a little less rust resistant.
