The gabions are made of high corrosion resistant, high strength, ductile low carbon steel wire or PVC coated steel wire woven together using machinery. The diameter of the low carbon steel wire used varies according to ASTM and EN standards, depending on design requirements.
The tensile strength of the wire is not less than 38kg/m² and the metal coating weight is generally higher than 245g/m². The length of the twisted part of the double wire must not be less than 50 mm to ensure that the metal plating and PVC plating of the twisted part of the wire are not damaged.
