Production Process Details
  • Raw materials including cereal flour, vegetable proteins, minerals, vitamins, and optionally meat or fish flour are processed
  • Dry ingredients enter the pre-conditioner for steam hydration with counter-rotary twin shaft blending for optimal mixing
  • Partial gelatinization of starches and texturing of polymers occurs during preconditioning
  • The mixture feeds into the twin-screw extruder with precise control of shearing, temperature, pressure, moisture, and residence times
  • Liquids or steam injection through barrel ports with optional degassing via vent-stuffer
  • Granules are shaped through the die, dried to 8-10% moisture, coated with flavoring and fat, then cooled and packaged
