The Automatic Heptafluoropropane Fire Suppression System (HFC-227ea / FM-200) is a clean, gaseous fire suppression solution designed for automatic operation. The agent can be safely removed from the protected space through ventilation after discharge.

FM-200 is thermally and chemically stable, with an atmospheric lifetime of 36.5 years — significantly shorter than other proposed halon replacements. The EPA does not classify FM-200 as a long-lived substance and has placed no restrictions on its use.
