All-Weather EPDM Rubber Farm Irrigation Hose — Rated -30 C to +100 C, Four Seasons, One Hose
The Problem: Your Hose Changes Personality With the Weather
- At -20 C, standard PVC hoses snap like glass — NR/SBR rubber stiffens so much you cannot uncoil it at 6 AM
- Surface temperature of a black hose in Arizona hits 70 C — PVC softens and collapses under pump suction; NR/SBR loses 40% of its burst rating
- 30 C daily temperature swings cause 1,000+ micro-expansion cycles per season — fatigueng the rubber matrix until it fails
- Pumping 5 C groundwater through a 60 C sun-heated hose creates thermal shock that delaminates the inner tube
Our Solution: True All-Weather EPDM Across the Full -30 C to +100 C Range
PASSION's all-weather EPDM hose has a glass transition temperature below -50 C — 30 C lower than NR and 70 C lower than PVC. It stays rubbery and flexible in the coldest US farmland. At the high end, thermal stabilizers prevent oxidation and chain scission at sustained +100 C. No plasticizer migration, no seasonal changeover.
Temperature Performance Comparison
| Condition | Standard PVC | PASSION EPDM |
| -30 C (North Dakota winter) | Shatters like glass | Flexible, uncoils normally |
| -10 C (frosty morning) | Too stiff to uncoil | Fully operational |
| +60 C (sun-heated surface) | Softens, pressure loss | No softening, full WP |
| +100 C (hot water / steam) | Melts | Rated and safe |
