In some cases, "extreme heavy copper" PCBs can have copper weights exceeding 20oz/ft².


Measurement: The copper weight is measured in ounces per square foot (oz/ft2), which represents the weight of copper that would cover one square foot of the board. A higher ounce value corresponds to a thicker copper layer.


Trace Characteristics: The thicker copper layers allow for wider and taller traces, which reduces the electrical resistance. This is crucial for applications that require carrying high currents without generating excessive heat.
