Overview

The O9953 card is used as a line card in the system to implement the access and processing of one STM-64 optical interface service.

The O9953 card provides the line access and service access with the rate of STM-64. The main functions of the card are as follows:

  • Provides one STM-64 optical interface.
  • Supports the optical interface with specific wavelength.
  • Performs the multiplexing and demultiplexing of the signal.
  • Supports transparent transmission of overheads.
  • Supports the SOH (section overhead) processing and supports all the defined SOH bytes (such as A1, A2, J0, B1, B2, S1, M1, H1, H2, H3, E1, E2, F1, D1 to D12, K1 and K2).
  • Supports monitoring of the higher order path overheads (such as J1, B3, C2 and G1).
  • Supports the contiguous concatenation of VC-4-4c, VC-4-16c and VC-4-64c.
  • Supports the equipment loopback and line loopback tests.
  • Supports the test on performance such as optical power, laser bias current and bit error.
  • Supports the seamless switch between the active and standby clock and crossconnect cards.
  • Supports hot insertion at the optical interface.
  • Supports the automatic shutdown of the laser.
  • Supports the remote software upgrade.
