Ferro Silicon Aluminum Description

Silicon-aluminum-iron alloy is a deoxidizer used in steelmaking production. It improves the morphology of inclusions and reduces the content of gas elements in molten steel. It is a new effective technology to improve steel quality, reduce costs and save aluminum. Practice has proved that Silicon-aluminum-iron alloy not only meets the requirements for deoxidation of steelmaking, but also has the advantages of desulfurization, high specific gravity, and strong penetrating power.

Ferro Silicon Aluminum Feature

The recovery rate of ferro silicon aluminum alloy is high, mainly because the alloy has a large specific gravity, aluminum has a specific gravity of 2.7g/cm3, and ferro silicon aluminum(FeAl30Si20) has a specific gravity of 3.5-4.2g/cm3. The specific gravity of the steelmaking residue is generally 2.8-3.2g/cm3, so the ferro silicon aluminum alloy will sink below the scum after being added, which effectively controls the reaction of aluminum with air and oxygen in the slag.
