Q: What’s the purpose of the fan clutch’s pulley? Can it be replaced separately if it’s damaged?
A: The pulley transfers power from the engine’s belt to the clutch. If the pulley is just cracked or worn (not the whole clutch), some models let you replace it separately. But you need to check if the pulley is sold alone—some clutches have the pulley integrated, so you have to replace the whole unit.

Q: Why does the fan clutch make more noise in rainy weather?
A: Rainwater can get into the clutch’s bearing or between the fan and clutch, causing temporary friction. It might also make the belt slip (if the belt gets wet), leading to squealing. Once the parts dry out, the noise usually goes away. If it doesn’t, check for bearing damage.

Q: Why does the fan clutch sometimes "click" when the engine starts?
A: A small click is normal for electromagnetic fan clutches—it’s the sound of the coil engaging when the engine starts. If the click is loud or followed by other noises (like grinding), it might be a loose connection or a faulty coil. A single soft click usually isn’t a problem.
