A: Sand accelerates bearing wear and oil degradation; reduce the normal 20 000 km interval to 8 000–10 000 km and synchronize the inspection with every engine-oil change, also checking for blade cracks and bolt torque.

Q: What damage can result from using excessively long mounting bolts?
A: Over-length bolts can bottom out against the internal water jacket of the pump housing, causing coolant leaks or even cylinder-block cracks; always use the OEM-specified length (typically 25 mm fully-threaded grade 8.8) and apply medium-strength thread locker.

Q: What data should be included as a minimum in the fan-clutch maintenance log?
A: Date, mileage, ambient temperature, silicone-oil level, bolt torque, blade crack status, vibration value (mm/s), and technician’s signature, enabling traceability of failure modes and optimization of service intervals.

Q: Why is it prohibited to apply lithium grease directly on the clutch shaft?
A: Lithium-soap grease is incompatible with silicone oil and will emulsify, reducing viscosity and causing delayed or continuous fan lock-up; only the specified fluorosilicone grease, chemically inert to silicone oil, is allowed on the shaft.

Q: What grade of strainer is required when replacing silicone oil?
A: Use a 100-mesh stainless-steel screen to remove metal chips and oxidation particles, preventing valve-port blockage; the oil-gun nozzle must also be cleaned with anhydrous alcohol and thoroughly dried beforehand.
