• Function and Application

1.Force transmission: One end of the connecting rod's small end is connected to the piston pin, and the big end is connected to the crankshaft's crankpin. During the engine's operation, when the fuel - air mixture in the cylinder burns, it generates high - pressure gas that acts on the piston, causing the piston to move linearly. The connecting rod then transmits the force from the piston to the crankshaft, enabling the crankshaft to rotate and output mechanical energy.

2.Motion conversion: The connecting rod converts the reciprocating linear motion of the piston into the rotary motion of the crankshaft. As the piston moves up and down in the cylinder, the connecting rod, with its small end following the piston's motion and its big end rotating around the crankpin, transforms the piston's linear movement into the crankshaft's continuous rotary motion.
