The Needle Flame Test Apparatus is designed to evaluate the fire hazard of electrical and electronic products, components, insulating materials and solid combustible materials under fault conditions.

The tester applies a controlled needle flame to the test specimen at a specified angle and evaluates whether the material ignites, as well as the flame duration and combustion behavior after exposure.

The equipment is designed in accordance with IEC 60695-11-5 and is suitable for needle flame testing under specified test conditions.

With PLC control and a 7-inch color touchscreen, the SN773 provides automated test operation and convenient parameter monitoring for laboratory and quality-control applications.

The test uses a needle-shaped burner supplied with butane gas. The burner is positioned at 45° to the specimen during the test.

A specified flame is applied to the sample for the required duration. The fire hazard is evaluated based on factors including:

• Whether the specimen ignites
• Whether combustion continues after flame application
• Burning duration
• Flame propagation or combustion behavior

The test helps assess the resistance of materials and components to ignition caused by a small external flame under abnormal or fault conditions.

The PLC control system automates the test sequence and improves testing repeatability.

A user-friendly touchscreen interface allows operators to set and monitor the test parameters conveniently.

The flame height is adjustable to 12 ± 1 mm and can be checked using the supplied flame height gauge.

The integrated timer supports precise measurement of ignition and combustion duration.

The test procedure incorporates an independent air-draft system to help maintain the required testing conditions.
