The Olympus PCF-PH190L is a completely new type of colonosocope aimed at assisting insertion in the most complex cases. Featuring a super thin outer diameter and Responsive Insertion Technology, the Olympus PCF-PH190L combines a range of diagnostic and therapeutic benefits into a colonoscope with an outer diameter of just 9.5 mm.
The Olympus PCF-PH190L is a slim paediatric colonoscope from the 190 (Exera III) generation, with a 9.5 mm insertion tube and 168 cm working length. Four features define it: variable stiffness, which lets the endoscopist change shaft rigidity as the scope advances through a mobile paediatric colon; an auxiliary water jet for washing mucosa without withdrawing the scope; narrow band imaging (NBI) for mucosal morphology; and responsive insertion technology for passive bending and stiffness adjustment. It must be used with the Exera III CV-190 processor and CLV-190 light source.
This scope must be used with the Exera III CV-190 video processor and CLV-190 light source — it will not run on earlier 190 platforms. The water-jet channel needs particular attention during reprocessing: flush it in both directions with the specified adapter, and confirm patency before every case, because a blocked jet will not show up until the operator tries to wash the mucosa. Leak test before each procedure, and store hanging vertically with the insertion tube relaxed.
Each scope is inspected before dispatch for optics, angulation, variable stiffness function, water-jet patency and insertion tube condition; image verification uses a compatible CV-190 system where available.
