Flexible scopes consist of the insertion tube, bending section, light guide tube, water/suction valve, stress boot, knob, light guide beam connector, light guide fiber, bendable image beam, and other important accessories. The structure of the flexible scope seems simple, but in fact, it contains many small accessories, and these small accessories are an important part of the composition of it, they are indispensable.
This inner ring (1 wire, type B) is a small structural part inside the bending section of a flexible endoscope, made from H59 copper with a 2.5 x 4.5 x 2.3 mm (inner hole) specification. It is one of the ring components that stack to form the articulated distal section: each ring carries the angulation wires and holds the internal geometry, and a single deformed ring is enough to make the scope deflect unevenly or fail to hold angulation at one direction.
H59 copper is used because the ring must be both formable and dimensionally stable: the wire grooves have to guide the angulation wire precisely, and the ring has to survive thousands of bending cycles without cracking. A ring that is out of tolerance — even by a fraction of a millimetre at the inner hole — changes the wire path, and the visible result is a scope that pulls to one side or binds near the limits of angulation. This is why an exact inner-hole dimension is specified rather than approximated.
