Description
Compared with elliptical dished heads, spherical dished heads offer superior pressure-bearing performance but involve higher manufacturing difficulty. As a result, elliptical structures are more commonly used in medium and low-pressure vessels. When the design pressure exceeds 10MPa, the use of spherical dished heads can reduce wall thickness, significantly lowering material costs. In storage-type vessels, their geometric characteristics can increase the effective volume by more than 15%.
