National Instruments SWB-2816 Matrix Module for SwitchBlock
The SWB-2816 (Part Numbers: 781421-16 and 781420-16) is a reed Matrix Module for SwitchBlock systems. The NI SWB-2816 Matrix Module is developed by National Instruments. The SWB-2816 module is used to simplify the wiring assembly. With the simplified wiring attained, the NI SWB-2816 results in the minimization of external inputs for the alteration of internal connection routes in the system.
The SWB-2816 module comes with the 8x46 (8 rows and 46 columns) 1-wire matrix configuration and requires 1 slot within the SwitchBlock carrier module. One of the distinctive features of the NI SWB-2816 is the flexibility as per the user’s requirement. The SWB-2816 module can be operated in 3 modes. The module can be used as an independent single relay card or as an expandable module up to 8 x 276 dimension in the single carrier. The third mode of the NI SWB-2816 module is as an expandable module in a single unit of the PXI chassis. This mode provides the range up to the dimension of 8 x 1104. The matrix switches can be used to transfer signals from a range of electronic devices, such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and waveform generators. Moreover, the SWB-2816 Matrix Module can be customized by being combined with other SWB-2816 modules to develop a tailor-made multi-card assembly unit.
The NI SWB-2816 features a typical bandwidth of more than 8 MHz. The SWB-2816 Matrix Module can support up to 100 VDC switching voltage and 0.25 A per channel switching current. Besides, the NI SWB-2816 module can take up to 0.30 A carry current on the individual channel. The maximum switching power requirement of the SWB-2816 is 3 W.
