BW850/2 Dual Cylinder Double Acting Reciprocating Piston Pump

Primary Applications
BW850/2 is a dual cylinder double acting reciprocating piston pump. The motor drives the crankshaft to make the piston reciprocate, and the left and right sides of the piston alternately suck and discharge slurry. The two cylinders work in a staggered manner to achieve continuous, stable, and high-pressure transportation of slurry, providing flushing fluid circulation power for the drilling rig.

Working principle of mud pump


1. Structural dynamic principle
The motor drives the crankshaft to rotate through a belt/coupling.
The crankshaft drives the connecting rod, crosshead, and piston rod to perform reciprocating linear motion.
The piston moves left and right inside the cylinder liner, forming a volume change, thereby achieving suction and discharge.
2. Double action principle (key)
The meaning of "double action" is: when the piston moves to the left, it pumps slurry, and when it moves to the right, it pumps slurry continuously, with less pulsation.
Piston moves to the right:
The volume on the right side of the piston decreases → the mud is squeezed → the drain valve is pushed open → it is discharged.
The left volume of the piston increases → negative pressure is formed → the suction valve is opened → mud is sucked in.


Pressure and flow characteristics
