The Yaskawa SGM7A-10AFA61 is a 1 kW Sigma-7 low-inertia rotary servo motor intended for industrial motion axes requiring high acceleration, precise positioning and a compact mechanical envelope. It delivers a rated torque of 3.18 Nm at 3000 RPM and an instantaneous maximum torque of 11.1 Nm.

The motor is equipped with a 24-bit incremental serial encoder and a straight output shaft with key and threaded center hole. The final 61 configuration does not include a holding brake or oil seal.

The SGM7A-10AFA61 is normally paired with a compatible Sigma-7 SERVOPACK in the SGD7S-120A capacity class. The motor should not be matched only by nominal kilowatt rating because the required SERVOPACK capacity also depends on peak current and the approved motor-drive combination.

Typical applications include high-speed packaging machines, printing systems, material-handling equipment, semiconductor machinery, electronic assembly lines, indexing tables, compact machine tools and robotic positioning mechanisms.

Maintenance and Replacement Notes

Verify the complete SGM7A-10AFA61 suffix, encoder type, shaft diameter, keyway, threaded center hole, flange and connector arrangement. A motor with a different encoder or mechanical suffix may require different cables, coupling components and parameter settings.

Confirm the SERVOPACK model, controller interface, firmware, motor parameter file, regenerative requirements, encoder cable, motor power cable and load-inertia ratio. The low-inertia rotor can produce rapid acceleration, but unsuitable tuning or excessive load inertia may cause vibration or positioning instability.

This model does not include a holding brake. Vertical axes and suspended loads require an independent mechanical holding arrangement.
