The ABB 5STP12K6500 is a rugged, high-voltage phase-control thyristor in disc-package design, engineered for demanding rectifier, soft-start, and AC-switch applications up to 6500 V. With a 1200 A average on-state current and 14 kA surge capability, it delivers reliable switching in traction drives, HVDC converters, and large motor starters. The hermetically sealed ceramic disc meets IEC 60747 and UL 1557 standards for high-power semiconductor devices.
