The C6240 is a heavy duty universal manual lathe designed for versatile metalworking tasks in workshops production facilities and educational environments. Built with a robust cast iron bed and RC52 hardened guideways, it delivers high rigidity, wear resistance, and long term machining accuracy for turning, facing, boring, drilling, and various thread cutting operations.

The lathe offers a maximum swing over bed of 400mm and a maximum workpiece length of 1000mm, suitable for processing medium sized shafts, discs, and cylindrical components. The spindle features an MT6 Morse taper, an 82mm through hole diameter, and a speed range of 11–1400rpm forward and 18–1250rpm reverse, accommodating different workpiece sizes and cutting requirements. The 7.5kW main motor provides ample power for both heavy roughing cuts and precision finishing operations.

The machine supports an extensive range of thread cutting capabilities: 46 types of metric threads (1–288mm), 47 types of inch threads (1/8–36 TPI), 42 types of module threads (0.5–144mm), and 53 types of DP threads (1/4–72 DP). It also offers 48 longitudinal feed options and 64 transverse feed options, with both standard and fine feed ranges for precise material removal control.

The tool post swivels ±90° for tapered turning, with longitudinal rapid traverse at 4m/min and transverse at 2m/min. The tailstock features an MT5 taper with 150mm travel, ideal for supporting long workpieces and drilling. 1. Install the lathe on a reinforced concrete foundation with sufficient load bearing capacity to ensure stability during heavy cutting.
2. Connect to a standard three phase power supply with reliable grounding to prevent electrical hazards.
3. Before operation, check the lubrication system spindle oil level coolant supply and guideway condition.
4. Securely clamp workpieces and cutting tools before starting the machine to prevent accidents.
5. Do not change spindle speed or feed rate while the machine is running to protect gears and transmission parts.
6. Wear safety goggles and avoid loose clothing or jewelry near rotating components during operation.
7. Regularly clean chips from the bed ways lead screw and apron to maintain accuracy and prevent wear.
8. When idle for extended periods, turn off the power apply anti rust oil to exposed metal surfaces and cover the machine.
