The generation of Chinese clay roof tiles is a tempering process, which is fired from clay.

Clay is the product of long-term weathering of certain aluminosilicate minerals, and is named

after its extremely strong viscosity. The clay is mixed with water to make the clay roof tiles,

which are calcined in kilns to make roof tiles. Clay contains iron, and when it is completely

oxidized during the firing process, it will produce ferric oxide that is red, which is the most

commonly used red tile; and if water is added to cool it during the firing process, the iron in

the clay will not be completely oxidized and low-grade iron will be formed. The low-grade iron

is blue gray, that is gray tiles. They are made by combining the elements of gold, wood, water,

fire, and earth among the five elements, and are the product of the wonderful combination of

man and nature
