A colorless to pale yellow or light olive green volatile essential oil with herbal, green, tea, woody, grassy, and wine aromas. It is soluble in ethanol, most fixed oils, and three volumes of mineral oil. It becomes milky white when diluted in more than three volumes of mineral oil. It is insoluble in glycerin and propylene glycol.
1. Used as a food flavoring, primarily in the preparation of vermouth, tobacco, and grape flavors.
2. Used in the preparation of soap, perfume, and cosmetic flavors.
