Introduction:

Cetrimonium chloride, also known as hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, is a white crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in isopropyl alcohol and water. It produces a lot of foam when shaken. It has good compatibility with cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants. It has good chemical stability and is resistant to heat, light, pressure, strong acid and alkali. It has excellent penetration, softening, emulsification, antistatic, biodegradability and bactericidal properties.

Uses:

Cetrimonium chloride is used to emulsify silicone oil, emulsifier for hair conditioner, fiber softener and antistatic agent. It can be used to soften and isolate paper. It is used as a corrosion inhibitor in the pickling industry. It is used in the petroleum industry to prevent internal corrosion of pipelines and acid water treatment systems.
