Dibromohydantoin is abbreviated as DBDMH in English. The pure product is a white solid with a melting point of 196~198℃, and the industrial product is a light yellow solid with a melting point of 194~197℃. It is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, ethanol, and slightly soluble in water. At 20℃, 1L of water can dissolve 2.2g of dibromohydantoin, and the pH value of 0.1% aqueous solution is 2.6. It is easily decomposed in strong acids or strong alkalis. It is stable when dry and easily absorbs moisture. It will partially hydrolyze after absorbing moisture. It has a slight irritating odor. The active bromine content is 54%~55%.
