Introduction:

It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, with a density of 0.92 g/mL, a melting point of -25°C, a boiling point of 170-172°C (15 mmHg), and a flash point of >230°F. The refractive index n₂₀/D is 1.465.

Uses:

N-Octylpyrrolidone (NOP) is a highly efficient and selective solvent that can be used in the recovery of organic raw materials, the refining of lubricating oils, and as a solvent for polymers and polymerization reactions; it is also widely used in the synthesis of fine chemicals such as medicines, pesticides, pigments, flavors, and cleaning agents. It is a highly efficient, safe, non-toxic skin penetrant, accelerator, surfactant, and organic synthetic solvent.
