Introduction:

Stearic acid, legal number INS (internationalnumbersystem) 570, EECNo.570, CAS [57-11-4], is a white or yellowish-white solid, soluble in alcohol and acetne, easily soluble in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, carbon disulfide, amyl acetate and toluen, etc., with a melting point of 69.6 ℃, it is one of the main components of fats and oils.

Uses:

It is used as the vulcanizing active agent of natural rubber, synthetic rubber (except butyl rubber) and latex, and also used as the raw material of plasticizer and stabilizer. It is also used as raw material for plasticizers and stabilizers in plastics. It is used in medicine to formulate ointment, suppository, etc. It is also used in the manufacture of cosmetics, candles, waterproofing agents, polishing agents and so on. It is used as lubricant, defoamer and raw material of food additives such as glycerol stearate, sorbitan stearate and sucrose ester in food industry.
