As a Rule of Thumb Use One Less Tension Band per Stretch than the Height of the Fence

How many do you need tension bands?

You will need 2-3/8” tension bands for every stretch of fence.

The amount of tension bands you will need per terminal post is 1 less than the height of the fence.

For example, if you have a 4’ fence you will need (3ea) 2-3/8” Tension Bands per terminal post. There are two exceptions, if you have a 3’ or 3-1/2’ fence, you will need (3ea) 2-3/8” tension bands. For a full stretch of fence from terminal post to terminal post, you will need double the amount. Ex: For a stretch 4’ fence you will need (6ea) total 2-3/8” tension bands.

A: 1-1/4" bolt will work for these bands

Q:What is the difference in the use of this tension band,and the use of the brace band?

A:Tension Band - In chain link fence, an offset strip of metal shaped to fit around the terminal post and used with a carriage bolt and nut to attach the tension bar to the post. Brace band - A strip of metal shaped to fit around a post and used with a carriage bolt and nut to attach the rail end to the post. Also used for attaching barbed wire, tension wire, and other items to a terminal post.

Q:Does the tension bands have enough length to reach around the post,fence

A:The tail's on these are 2". This is all the length you have left over after it is around the normal corner or main post.

Q:This Tension Band could be able to bolt it to a 2x6

A: Yes it will go around pole and tension bar and you could bolt it to a 2x6
