• A double layer CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plate is a specialized printing plate used in offset printing, created using CTP technology for direct digital image transfer without traditional film-based processes.
• The plate consists of two distinct layers: a photosensitive photopolymer coating that reacts to UV light, and a substrate base layer providing stability and support.
• During production, the plate is exposed to UV light through a digital imaging system, selectively hardening the photopolymer material in image areas while unexposed regions remain soft and soluble.
• After exposure, a development process using chemical solution removes unexposed areas, leaving only hardened image areas ready for offset printing.
• Double layer CTP plates offer higher image quality, sharper details, improved registration accuracy, faster production, and reduced costs compared to traditional film-based plates.
