Dual-layer CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plates, also known as two-layer CTP plates, consist of two distinct layers. The top layer is a thin, light-sensitive coating, while the bottom layer is a thicker aluminum base that provides structural support and stability.
During the plate-making process, the top layer is exposed to laser light, creating the desired image. The unexposed areas are then washed away, revealing the aluminum layer beneath. This aluminum surface serves as the printing area, which accepts ink and transfers the image to the printing material.
Dual-layer CTP plates are renowned for their exceptional resolution and superior image reproduction. The two-layer construction enhances durability and stability, resulting in extended plate life and consistent printing performance. These plates are widely used in high-quality commercial printing applications including packaging, magazines, and catalogs where precise image reproduction is critical.
