How the Drum Vacuum Filter Works! As the drum rotates, the vacuum effect creates a pressure difference inside and outside the drum – this drives starch to adsorb firmly on the filter cloth. Liquid passes through the filter cloth, flows along the vacuum pipeline to the air-water separation tank, and continuous vacuum pumping dries the drum-adsorbed starch into a solid filter cake. A scraper device then removes the filter cake from the filter cloth; one cycle ends, and the next starts immediately, producing low-moisture solid starch efficiently.
