Carbon Fiber Roll-Wrapped Tubes
By rolling several layers of carbon fiber fabric around a mandrel, carbon fiber roll-wrapped tubes can be produced. Strength and stiffness are provided to the tube from both sides by the layers that run in different directions. The tube is subsequently cured after wrapping. Because the fibers are layered in multiple directions, carbon fiber roll-wrapped tubes are very strong and stiff. They can bear multidirectional forces; hence, they have high feasibility of application in strength-critical applications. These properties make roll-wrapped tubes suitable for most work carrying a bike frame, a camera rig, an aircraft part, etc. But carbon fiber roll-wrapped tubes are somewhat more complicated to manufacture than other sorts of carbon fiber tubes, which is why they are occasionally a little more costly.
Our roll-wrapped carbon fiber tubes are manufactured by wrapping multiple layers of 12k UD and 3k twill/plain carbon fiber prepregs around a metal mould and then cured at high temperature. The UD prepregs are used in core layers, whereas the Twill/Plain is on the surface. Based on your requirement, we can also use Kevlar and glass fiber.
Our Roll Wrapped Carbon Fiber Tube is manufactured using a multi-layer wrapping process with unidirectional and woven carbon fiber fabrics, then cured with high-performance epoxy resin under heat and pressure. This method ensures excellent strength, uniform wall thickness, and superior performance in both axial and radial directions.
Compared to pultruded tubes, roll-wrapped tubes offer greater strength and durability, especially in bending and torsional applications. These tubes are ideal for high-performance structural uses such as drone arms, telescopic poles, robotic systems, and automotive or aerospace components.
