The high - pressure centrifugal fan operates on the principle of converting kinetic energy into potential energy. A high - speed rotating impeller speeds up the gas. Subsequently, the gas slows down and changes its flow direction, thus transforming kinetic energy into potential energy (pressure).In a single - stage centrifugal fan, gas enters the impeller axially. As it passes through the impeller, the gas flow shifts to the radial direction before entering the diffuser. Inside the diffuser, the change in gas flow direction leads to deceleration, converting kinetic energy into pressure energy. Most of the pressure increase happens in the impeller, and then in the diffuser.For a multistage centrifugal fan, a reflow mechanism is employed to direct the airflow into the next impeller, generating greater pressure.
