IEC 60335-2-17 Grids Inclined at 45°
Testing Procedure
A heating element or internal wiring sample of at least 150 mm in length is placed on a grid inclined at 45°. The grid is constructed from parallel wires of 0.6 mm diameter spaced 20 mm apart. The sample is positioned perpendicular to the horizontal wires and centered between them. A second grid of similar dimensions is then placed on the sample, with its horizontal wires offset by 10 mm from those of the first grid. Both grids remain parallel to the sample and properly aligned with each other throughout the testing process.
