Characteristics and Applications

DR-2170 features uniform particle size and shape, high melting point, excellent transparency, and easy dispersion. Suitable for solvent-based coatings, it provides effective matting while improving scratch resistance and blocking resistance under higher temperatures.

DR-2170 exhibits synergistic effects, helping prevent precipitation of silica matting agents. When used with silica, the recommended silica to polypropylene wax ratio is approximately 1:1 to 4:1.

In powder coatings applications, DR-2170 enhances hardness and scratch resistance, assists in matting, and produces no smoke during 180°C baking processes.

Usage Guidelines
  • Recommended addition rate: 0.5% to 3% across various systems
  • Dispersion method: Direct high-speed stirring for solvent-based coatings and printing inks
  • Compatible with various grinding machines and high-shear dispersing devices
  • Important: Maintain temperature control when using grind mills
Storage and Handling

Store away from ignition sources and strong oxidants. Shelf life: Two years.
