What is Thermal Lamination Film?
Thermal lamination film is produced by multi extrusion coating lines. It consists of two layers: one is plastic film (primarily BOPP or PET film), and another layer is adhesive glue of EVA. Thermal Lamination Film is also called dry, hot or heat lamination film.
Where is Thermal Lamination Film Used?
Generally, printing houses use BOPP Thermal Lamination Film rolls for commercial and school printings. It can also be used for graphic arts large format applications. The transparent film lamination, available in bright/shine/glossy or matte/dull finishes, is heated as protection on paper covers. Sometimes it is referred to as paper lamination film used by heating EVA adhesive glue onto paper substrates.
Specific applications of BOPP Thermal Laminating Film Roll include:
- Textbook covers
- Brochures
- Leaflets
- Sweet boxes and diaries
- Shopping bags
- Cosmetics boxes
How to Use Thermal Lamination Film?
The lamination process involves joining two or more layers to protect prints. A hot laminator (thermal/heat/dry lamination roller machine) is required to use Thermal Lamination Film by melting its EVA adhesive onto paper surfaces. During the process, the film is passed on a heated roller and under reasonable pressure it sticks to the paper. This process is easy to use and can be done at home for small applications. Sometimes, it is also called heat lamination, dry lamination, or hot lamination.
