Shin-Etsu HIVAC-F4 is a synthetic oil formulated from refined silicone oil and micro-powdered silica. It offers excellent heat resistance, oxidation stability, and chemical reaction stability, making it suitable for sealing and lubricating high vacuum diffusion pumps. HIVAC-F4 can achieve a vacuum level of 10⁻⁶ Torr, and with a liquid nitrogen trap, the vacuum level can be further increased to 10⁻¹² Torr. This silicone oil does not produce oxidation gases or acidic substances when heated, ensuring stable operation of vacuum pumps over the long term.

It can maintain stable performance at temperatures up to 300°C, without the thermal cracking issues associated with petroleum-based pump oils.
