Product Overview

PEPPERL+FUCHS Surge Protection Barrier K-LB-2.30

This 2-channel surge protection barrier mounts on DIN rail and is designed for intrinsically safe or non-intrinsically safe 30V applications. It protects field or control circuit inputs with maximum surge current (8/20 µs) of 20 kA and features uninterruptable operation with auto reset. Certified up to SIL 3 according to IEC/EN 61508.

Function & Operation

The device limits induced transients from various sources such as lightning or switching operations. Current is diverted to earth while limiting signal loop voltage during overvoltage pulses. The device is HART transparent and mounts on 35 mm DIN mounting rail according to EN 60715.

Important: Always connect to high-quality ground connections. The device must maintain the same potential as protected devices. Install ground system according to applicable regulations.
