Description:

The MPC4 is a key part of a machinery protection system. This very flexible card can measure and monitor up to four changing signal inputs and two speed inputs at the same time. Its changing signal inputs can be set up for many types of signals, like acceleration or position. The card can measure many different physical conditions, including different types of vibration and movement. It uses digital methods to process these signals, which includes filtering and measuring values like the true peak level.

The speed inputs work with signals from different kinds of speed sensors. The card's settings can use metric or imperial units. Warning and danger limits can be fully programmed, and these alarm levels can even change based on the machine's speed. For each alarm, a digital output signal is available. These alarm signals can control local relays or be sent to other optional relay cards. The processed signals are also available as simple voltage or current outputs from the system.

The card runs a self-check when turned on. It also constantly monitors the measurement signals to detect problems like a broken wire or a bad sensor. A light on the front shows if there is a processing error. Six other lights show if a fault is detected or if an alarm happens on each channel. The MPC4 comes in three main types: a standard version, a separate circuits version, and a safety version. All types work together with a matching input/output card.
