About Stainless Steel Rebar
Stainless steel rebar has been successfully applied to many bridge and construction projects in the most corrosion-prone areas. These bars extend the life of the structure and minimize maintenance requirements, providing an excellent price/performance ratio.
While carbon steel rebar is sufficient for many construction projects, in some cases concrete does not provide adequate natural protection. This is especially true for ocean-type environments and those where de-icing agents are used, which can lead to chloride-induced corrosion. If stainless steel threaded rebar is used in this type of environment, despite the high initial investment, it can reduce long-term costs by extending the life of the structure and minimizing maintenance needs.

Standards Compliance
The main stainless steel rebar standards used today are BS 6744 (UK) and ASTM A955 (USA), although there are others such as XP135014 (France). Other countries use the carbon steel standard, sometimes with minor adjustments, such as SIA 262 (Switzerland) or DIN 488 (Germany).
