SUS630 Aqvaloy 17 Propeller Shaft Condition Raw Coupling and Propeller Side Machining Stainless Steel Bar
17-4PH Stainless Steel Overview
17-4 Precipitation Hardening (Type 630) is a chromium-copper precipitation hardening stainless steel designed for applications requiring high strength and moderate corrosion resistance. This alloy maintains high strength up to approximately 600°F (316°C).
General Properties
Alloy 17-4 PH is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel with copper and niobium additions. The grade combines high strength, hardness (up to 572°F / 300°C), and excellent corrosion resistance. Mechanical properties can be optimized through heat treatment, achieving very high yield strength up to 1100-1300 MPa (160-190 ksi).

Corrosion Resistance
Alloy 17-4 PH provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard hardenable stainless steels and is comparable to Alloy 304 in most media. For chloride media, 550°C is the optimum tempering temperature, while 590°C is preferred for H2S media. The alloy may experience crevice or pitting attack in stagnant seawater but offers excellent resistance in chemical, petroleum, paper, dairy, and food processing applications.
