Manufactured to ASTM A312 and ASTM A269 standards, these S32652 UNS 654SMO 1.4652 X1CrNiMOCUN24-22-8 super austenitic stainless steel pipes and tubes offer superior corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Material Description
654SMO (S32654, 1.4652) super austenitic stainless steel contains 23% nickel, 25% chromium, and 7% molybdenum, providing significantly better corrosion resistance than standard austenitic steels.
The high molybdenum content makes this material hard and sticky during seamless pipe perforation, requiring specialized center perforation and cold rolling/drawing processes to ensure high success rates and prevent eccentricity or cracking.
This alloy demonstrates excellent local corrosion resistance with superior pitting and stress corrosion resistance in seawater, aeration, gaps, and low-speed erosion conditions, serving as a cost-effective alternative to nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys.
